Four Days-Trhee Night (Orangutan & Elephant Tours)
After the jungle trip, we’re heading to Tangkahan. Tangkahan is about 40 km (2.5 hours) from Bukit Lawang. We go there by driving a Jeep . It is a muddy and/ or rocky road, so our journey is an adventure off road.During this trip to Tangkahan, we drive through palm oil plantations and many villages.We can stop on the way to see a very beautiful forest view from a distance. Tangkahan is called a” hidden paradise”, with beautiful forest which we can see from the edge of the river. There are two big rivers flowing. The Batang river and the Bamboo river. The river is very clean and fresh and a great place to swim.
At the bamboo river is there a hot spring, so we could go there to enjoy two different types of waters. We could also visit the waterfalls or beaches butterfly on the river.
On the Batang river we can do cube down the river and have lunch at the riverside while enjoying the Gelugur waterfall. This waterfall is very pretty and bigger in comparison with the waterfalls of the Bamboo river.You can have a bath in the waterfall. After that we can do activities such as bathing elephants.
ITINERARY.
DAY 1.
Pick up from Medan hotel/airport. Drive four hours to Bukit Lawang by AC car. Once arrived at the hotel ,rest of the day is free for leisure,you can swim or take a beautiful walk to the local village nearby. If you have time you could visit the Bat cave or you can do villige tour by Tuk-tuk.
DAY 2.
We start trekking after breakfast around 9.00 am.You will receive a small briefing before entering the jungle. Our expert guide will explain you many things about the rain forest and the wildlife in the jungle.And he will show you many different kind of plants and flowers. We will do a few resting while trekking for little picnic in the jungle by our indonesian lunch.On the menu is fried rice plus a variety of tropical fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, banana, orange and passion fruit for dessert. After lunch, we continue our jungle expedition watching the sumatran orangutan( pongo abelii ) and other animals while heading to the campsite. Upon arrival at the campsite you can go to the river for a swim or relax while enjoying tea or coffee. After dinner you can playing cards or make campfire with the team. If the weather is good we can go fishing in the river. We spent the night in the jungle, an amazing experience.
DAY 3.
In the morning after you wake up we will serve you with tea or coffee + biscuits, enjoy your breakfast with toast + egg + cheese + cucumber + tomatoes, and we will have jungle fruits salad for the desserts. After breakfast we will packup the stuff and go back to the village by traditional tube rafting.
When we get to Bukit lawang, you can change your dry clothes and we go straightaway to Tangkahan for about 2,5 hours. Upon arrival in Tangkahan we check in to the guesthouse, and will have lunch at the restaurant. After lunch finish we go to the elephants center, Elephant activities start at 3:30pm and you can enjoy your time to do Elephant bath and feeding the Elephants for about 1 hours and you will earn a good memories by the elephants.
After elephants activities finish we go back to our guest house, afterwards we go to swim in the river and cross to the hot springs and visit the waterfall dwon stream. Enjoy the place with view of the jungle and we are lucky we could see some different kind of the monkey and monitor lizard at the river bank.
DAY 4.
After breakfast packup the stuff and we will transfer you back to Medan hotel/airport for about 5-6 hour by private air-con car.
